4th of July Festivities!

Oh My Gosh! There is NOTHING compared to 4th of July in Utah.  They have so many fun parades, great fireworks, and this year, my kids got to ride on the firetruck (my uncle, Mike, is a fireman) and we got to go to a great Fireman/family BBQ and always get the best seats for the parade and fireworks because we get to sit at the fire station.  Thanks, Mike, for your hookups- oh and for being a great fire man!

Kate's Baby Shower July 2nd

On July 2nd, we threw a baby shower for my sister, Kate, and her soon to be baby boy, Easton!  The color scheme was black, white, green and hints of yellow. I love how it turned out, and I think everyone had a good time. Kate got lots of great stuff and my grandma also made her this beautiful blanket.  I cannot wait until this little boy gets here and I can snuggle him!

Miscellaneous Utah

Here are some random pics of the fun we had in Utah....don't worry- Idaho will come next!  The kids LOVED playing at grandma's house....jumping on the trampoline, roasting hot dogs, playing dress up, being able to walk in "UTAH" grass without getting bit by anything, the swings, SURF N SWIM, etc...etc...    oh and if you're wondering why most of my pics are of Lexie, well, the other 2 just don't stay around long enough to get pictures anymore.  they are always "busy" :(

The hike up Adams Canyon

as always, i love to go hiking/running in Adams Canyon. It's the same hike Chelsy and Mike took me on when i came in May, and I was excited to take Matt up too.  We had this silly idea that Lexie would love to go with us and ride in the backpack....well, we were wrong, and she hated it.  She cried and cried.  Mike and Matt took turns carrying her.  Anyway, Matt, Mike, Chelsy, Grandpa Dave and I had a great time! Mike also took Matt on a killer bike ride, but they didn't take the camera...boo.

Driving to Utah day 1 and 2

On June 30 we left for Utah! We were originally going to drive straight through, then thought we would probably be too tired, so we decided to camp overnight in Durango.  It took us about 15 hrs to get to Durango, and the kids couldn't have been better! They were actually angels in the car (thank heavens for DVD player and Ipods!).   Lexie had her moments of yelling at us, but no crying from her! The campsite we stayed at was beautiful.  It was called Lightner Creek, and we will definitely stay there when we go through Durango again.  The kids had fun exploring with their flashlights at night, and throwing rocks in the creek.  There was a downfall, however, I packed for summer camping, and not mountain camping.  It's a good thing I threw in the extra blanket, because we needed them! it got cold!  we were all without socks, longsleeve shirts and long pants.  I know- I know...but I will never make that mistake again! Lexie woke up about 330 am and wanted to get on our mattress. Boo.  For some reason, why on earth does a baby fussing in the middle of the night at a campground seem SO LOUD! Ha!  Anyway, we got a semi-good nights rest, woke up (an hour earlier that we were expecting to, because my ipod was still on Texas time- an hour ahead!), cleaned up and headed out.
We're in southern Utah as I type this, and will be to Grandma Sheryl's before dinner.  Beautiful mountains and rock formations- oh how I've missed thee!

Brian's week of camp

June 21-25th, Brian had the opportunity to go to an all day (9-5) camp at T Bar M ranch.  He had so much fun! They had themed days... Monday was meet your camp group day,Tuesday was Pirate day, Wednesday was Cowboy carnival, Thursday was Camo (mission impossible) day, and Friday was their Alpha vs Omega day- Brian was on Omega(blue) team.  On Friday, they had a closing cermony where the parents/grandparents/family were invited to see them sing the songs they had learned, and hear about what they did that week.  Each counselor picked a trait they thought best described each camper.  Brian's counselor, Dylan, said that Brian was very INDEPENDENT.  Hmm...sounds familiar.  :)
They had fun filled days of swimming in really cool pools, playing in tree houses, playing mini golf, learning to be a good person, etc, etc..... Sydnee would've gone this year too, but you have to have completed kindergarten.  She's going to go next year, and Brian will go to their sports camp next year!
