Rock & Roll Half-Marathon!!!!

Ok so I just have to report on how proud I am of my husband!! He ran his first ever half-marathon (13.1 miles!) on Sunday in the Rock and Roll Marathon. There were 30,000 runners registered for the race. YIKES! Craziness, I believe it's called! There was a half-marathon and a full marathon...oh my gosh- if 30,000 runners won't inspire you to get in shape, I have no idea what will! HA!! I did 5 miles myself today on the treadmill, because I was feeling inferior to them! Anyway, matt finished in 2:28:09...his knees were hurting pretty bad after mile 9, so he had to slow down a bit. I caught him at the end of the race--sorry, babe, for not being a good wife and meeting you at several points during your race. Cut me some slack! Being a 6 month pregnant lady among more that 30,000 people is annoying enough as it is! Anyway, it was pretty cold to start (38 degrees I believe), but then it warmed up when the sun came out. Now I have a goal--Matt and I are going to run TOGETHER next year. Yes, I am not usually a runner, but now I just have to do this. Wish me luck! I will need it, I'm sure!! HHAHAHAHAHAH!!

DOWNTOWN

We went downtown on Saturday to the Health and Fitness Expo after Brian's game. We parked at Matt's work (for FREE! love that!) and rode the trolley for $2 (total!) to the Alamodome. Things were pretty crazy down there since the Rock and Roll Marathon was going to be on Sunday morning--see next post! We had a good time, and the kids had a blast riding the trolley!

Brian's last game!

Brian had his last soccer game on Saturday. :( He did great--scoring 3 goals I think. I did get a video of him scoring one, but I need to figure out how to put that on here. They got a little trophy for playing. Tomorrow night is their team party at Chuck E Cheese's where they will get a cuter trophy that Aimee ordered! LOL! Good job Brian!

movie sillyness

Since they've been really good at getting their 2 stars/day at school, I took the kids to see Madagascar 2 on Tuesday. It was a cute movie! We were there 10 mins early so we were just messin around with the camera before the movie started...here are the results....I LOVE brian's face in the last one! How much cuter can you get?!?!?

Matt's 29! Tapatio, cake and cuties

Matt turned 29 last Sunday!! It's officially his last year of the 20s! YIKES! Just teasin...kinda...anyway.... Friday night matt and I stayed at Tapatio Resort, and played a round of golf the next morning. No we did not splurge! HA! Last year we won a free night and round of golf for two from Matt's work...so it worked out that we could go there this past weekend for his bday. On sunday we had a yummy dinner and cake at matt's parents house.
And of course I couldn't resist adding a pic of the kids before church....look how big they are!!!

Baby Max

Our lovely cousins, Jenny and Martin, had a new baby last Sunday!! He wasn't due until Thanksgiving day, so he was a month early! He was 5 lbs, 15 oz and 19 inches long...so needless to say, Jenny was glad to have had him early! HA! He is soooo tiny and absolutely adorable. SOOO much black hair and the sweetest thing ever! Sydnee was in love! She wanted to hold the baby the whole time, and she asked to stay with Jenny and Martin when I told her it was time to go. Seriously, this girl was almost crying when we got to the car! It was so cute! I'm thinking she is going to be an awesome big sister to our new baby in a couple months!

Diabetes 5k

On saturday morning, we ALL got up before dawn (yikes!) to go and run/walk a 5k for the American Diabetes Association. Matt's parents came with us too! Yes, I am 22 weeks pregnant, and it wasn't too bad. I usually fast walk 3 miles 3 days a week on a treadmill, but on the pavement, my body is definately feeling it more. AND I felt bad for making Matt (mr. "I'm training for a Half Marathon) walk fast most of the way, so I gave in and ran some...aren't I nice? Thanks to our lovely friends who let us borrow your strollers since our double jogger's tire blew out last week! It was actually probably better that we had 2 strollers!

Halloween

As if the 2 other times we went trick or treating weren't enough-- we went, yet again, on Halloween night. The kids trick or treated in Granny and Grandpa's neighborhood with matt and grandpa, while Granny Sharon and I handed out candy at the house.
On thursday night, we carved a pumpkin and frosted sugar cookie pumpkins to take to the kids school classes on Friday. On Friday, they were told to wear their best Halloween shirts to school. They had a super fun Halloween this year!

Church Trunk or Treat

As if Friday night weren't enough, Saturday night we had our church Trunk or Treat! Again, all day beggin as to when we were going to leave! It was pretty fun for the kids- the church did a chili/cornbread/pie cookoff to start the night, then a costume contest, and FINALLY the trunk or treating. There were so many kids there this year! Way more than I remember from any other time. UNFORTUNATELY, this year, my mom and dad did not come down for Halloween. BOO! They've been down every year, so it was a bit melancholy *sp?* going without them. The doggie in the pic is our surrogate dog, Sophie. And NONE of my pics with my SUPER, wonderful friend Nicole turned out--so Nic- I need one!
PS:
Try not to notice my increasingly large form....but only 4 full months to go! YAY!

School Halloween Party

On Friday night, the kids had a school halloween party/trick or treat. They were BEGGING all week long as to when they could put on their costumes. Finally, the day arrived! :) They were so excited and had a super fun time. The one of the 3 boys is Brian and his classmates, and the one of Sydnee and her friend, Julia, turned out blurry for some reason- Sorry!

Zoo

Last Tuesday, we took advantage of the gorgeous weather and ventured to the Zoo. We have a year long Zoo pass, which is lovely by the way, so we can go anytime we want! The weather was sooooo nice (as opposed to the 1000 degree weather when we went with my mom and sis in August--NEVER again will I go to the zoo July-August!). The animals were out and about...and then of course we rode the train.

Sea World Howl O Scream!

This year we ventured to Sea World to see what their Howl O Scream was like. Needless to say...syd's still a bit scared! Not everything was frieky, just a few parts. It was super fun...and I got scared to death by a werewolf...definately a must do if you're in SA for an October weekend...

some stretching

brian had another soccer game today....most of the pics are the same as the last ones i've posted, but I thought these ones of the kids stretching were cute.

Pumpkin Patch

This morning we took the kids on our annual pumpkin patch trip! Well, we didn't have to travel far, but it was still a good time. They picked out some cute pumpkins....syd even got one for the new baby. Sweet!
And, YES, we are in TEXAS gear, because it was a SUPER BIG GAME TODAY! And of course, THEY WON!!!
