April- Easter
EASTER was, of course, filled with egg dying, eating too much junk, egg hunting, and filling the Easter baskets with tons of candy and goodies. My sister, Katie, her daughter, Kylie, and my cousin, Megan came to visit march 30-apr 14 and were here for Easter. It was so fun to do an egg hunt in the back yard of our Scenic Oaks house. We hid 150 eggs and found them ALL!
A smattering of March

March FLEW by!! My sister, Ashley, who's in the Army now, came to visit us on her leave for a whole 30 days!! It was so fun to have her here. When she was here, my mom also came down to visit for 30 days. We had a blast! While they were here, we went to see Alice in Wonderland, went to eat at Longhorn Cafe (a few times!), had my birthday dinnner(s) at Stone Werks and Texas Roadhouse, went to the outlets, went to the Riverwalk, and swam in the pool...whew, I'm tired just thinking about all we did while they were here!
Long time, I know
yes, yes, I know it's been a long time! But hey- I've been soooo busy....Easter,visitors for 2 months, moving-AGAIN-, bought a house, mother's day, short trip to Utah, etc, etc! Needless to say, there are about a million pics that I'd love to put up here. Instead, I will try to make each post short and sweet with a few select pictures....at least until I get caught up. So, enjoy our adventures from the past few months!

Let's Rodeo 2010
On Feb 17th, we all ventured down to the annual San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. We've only ever taken the kids around the grounds, so this was a special treat to get to go to the rodeo and concert. If only we knew (haha)....the kids had a super time during the rodeo- Sydnee officially wants to be a barrel racer, and Brian wants to "ride one of those sheep" to get a HUGE trophy and cool belt buckle. Our tickets included the Alan Jackson concert after the rodeo, BUT that didn't even get started until about 930, so for kids who usually go to bed at 7, that was VERY late. And it showed! Lexie fell asleep on me (THAT IS SO RARE- she was SO tired!), and Sydnee was practically bawling in her seat. I think it was pretty fun for them, but next time we will stick to the Saturday matinee rodeos and concerts. Oh- they LOVED dressing in their "cowboy" clothes too. Here's to you- DAD and MOM- these kids belong on your ranch!!
LEXIE is 1!!!
Wow- this I cannot believe! my baby girl is 1! Technically, her birthday was on Saturday, Feb.27th, but I'm just now getting around to blogging about it. We had a great family/friend party over at our house, with a whole ladybug theme going on. Ladybug games- everyone made a ladybug to "pin on the leaf", a super bug search in the yard, guessing how many "bugs" were in the jar-, special ladybug tutu outfit, CAKE, etc! Black, white and red balloons, streamers, and decor adorned the house....and the cake! Oh the cake! I spent days making this awesome ladybug cake for my girl!! I've never, ever worked with fondant before, and I was so nervous. I have to say, though, it turned out amazing!! I was so happy with the result--and I was actually sad to see it cut into.
Here's some stats on our little ladybug::
She walks and runs all over the place
slowly growing in some hair ;)
loves to throw a ball and chase after it
loves watermelon, broccoli, spaghetti,
green beans, corn, noodles, and CANDY!
says "mama" and "dada"
loves playing with other kids
likes to growl and gasp (haha)
I will post height and weight stats when I get them. This girl brings so much joy to our home! I don't know how we lived without her! She is always so happy and funny!

Valentine's field trips, parties, and Valentine's day!
AHHH! I still can't figure this layout thing out! Oh well.....Sydnee had a field tip on Friday, Feb.12th to Funtastic Playland. Her class also did their Valentine's Party there. This place is crazy! They have HUGE indoor playsets, giant bouncy castles, etc, etc....Lexie LOVED the slides and all the kids. And I didn't even see Sydnee until it was time to eat! hahahaha! After Sydnee's trip, I dropped her off at Jaylie's house to play while Lexie and I went to Brian's class party. Wow- just like at his Christmas party- 21 6 year olds should NOT have that much sugar. :) He and his class passed out Valentine's and ate exhorbant amounts of candy and sugar until it was time to go home.
On Sunday- the kids had their Valentine donut breakfast, and opened their special valentine's mailboxes. We had a diaper box that Lexie kept trying to get into, so Matt thought it would be a fun idea to push her around the house in it. SHE LOVED IT! And of course, Sydnee couldn't be left out! They had so much fun!! Then we had to calm down, get a decent picture, and go to church.
A party!
Sydnee's super friend, Jaylie, had a birthday party! The girls were told to wear their princess dresses to come and play. Sydnee and Jaylie get along sooooo well, and love to play together. Syd is definately going to be super sad when they move in May and aren't as close. Anyway, Sydnee dressed up in her Cinderella dress and was sooo sooo excited. They played duck, duck, goose, pin the crown on the princess, opened gifts, and had some yummy cake. Lexie had such a fun time climbing all over Jaylie's princess throne, and eating balloons. Thanks, Nielsons, for a super fun time! (and if you find that you got a pic of Sydnee and Jaylie together--pass it along to me please!!)
A day at the park(s)....
Ok, so I'm still getting used to this new blogger layout thingy- so bare with me. I usually like to put the description above the pictures, but whatever. These are just some pictures I found when I was clearing out my camera...a couple from Freiderich Park in January, and some from Raymond Russell Park (a place real close to our house that I take the kids to quite often). It was Lexie's first time on the swing--and she LOVED it!! This girl would be on slides and swings all day if she could!
