Utah- September 8, 2010

On Sept.8th, we had my great-grandma katie, and aunt chris up for lunch for my mom's birthday.  We ordered Chinese, took pictures, and chatted.  Lexie also fed the cows quite a few times with my grandpa Dave.  They would pick up the pears off the ground under the pear trees and threw them over the fence to the cows...I don't know who loved it more- Lex or the cows! I'm so glad she was buddies with the guys this time! That evening we wend to Layton Park and got together with our relatives on my dad's side.  We always have a good time with them- we missed all those who weren't there!

Utah-September 7, 2010

Sept. 7th was kind of just a hang out day, so here are some random pics!

Utah-September 6, 2010

My mom's birthday is September 9th, but we celebrated all week! On Sept 6th, we went out to Texas Roadhouse for her dinner, then had a YUMMY Sam's chocolate cake and GIFT back at the house.  This year my sisters, amy, and grandma/grandpa all went in on a PINK KAYAK for my mom.  She was very spoiled this year! She got the kayak, 2 horses, and a new 4 wheeler! Ah, the joys of having no kids living at home (or I guess just 1)!! Anyway, she was totally surprised by the kayak from us, but she put the card in the way right as i took the pic!
Happy Birthday, Mom!  LOVE YOU TO INFINITY AND BEYOND!

I think she was excited!

Utah- September 4, 2010

On Sept 4, we went up to my grandparents ranch to hang out with some of our family that were having a campout up there for the weekend.  Lexie loved my cousin, Todd's, dog. It was a HUGE german shepherd that was way bigger than her.  I think she may have wanted to ride him....

Utah- Sept 3rd continued

So after being at the hospital from 230pm until 7pm, then back again at 10pm(on the 2nd of Sept)...Ellie and I left about 6am on the 3rd and guess what? Little miss Alexa decided to get up at 730! Nice, real nice.  We went back to the hospital to see Kate about 5pm...

Utah- September 2 and 3, 2010

On the morning of Sept 2nd, Kate was all set to be induced at 9 am.  Well....the hospital called at 730 and said to just cool it at home for a bit because they were super busy, and wanted to make sure they had a nurse for her.  About 2pm they called and said we could come in.  Mom, Derrick, Kate and I loaded up in the car and were off!  She was all checked in and started on the pitocin at about 330ish.  3 hours later, only dialated to a 2.  I went home to bath Lexie, put her to bed, and pick up my youngest sis, Ellie, who had just arrived from Idaho.  We headed back to the hospital about 10pmish, and arrived to find out that kate was only dialated to a 3 still.  Bummer! I thought FOR SURE he would've been born by now.  Kate had been having contractions for days and we really thought it wouldn't be this long.  Anyway, we all played ipods, computers and generally made fun of each other while we waited.  HOURS later (and I'm very sorry kate if i'm getting all these times wrong....i just know whereabouts- i was going on NO SLEEP!) around 330 am, nothing was happening, she was only dialated to a 6, and the baby was showing signs of distress so they decided to perform an emergency c section.  Poor baby- the cord was wrapped around his neck AND leg, so he would have never been born naturally. Kate's insides were totally beat up from trying to get him out. OUCH!  The dr got in there and got the baby out and both were healthy and did very well.
Welcome to the world,
Easton Dean Obrien!

I LOVE YOU ALREADY!

Utah- September 1, 2010

On Sept 1, Kate, Derrick and I ventured down to the Gateway in Salt lake City to get Kate walking and have that baby!  It was a bit weird being the 3rd wheel...Derrick must've got some weird looks being with 2 women and all, but hey, it's Utah! HAHHAAH! I'm only kidding.  We ate at a yummy place called the Sky Box- kind of a bar/grill type food with LOTS of tv's for your sports viewing pleasure.

P.S. I just have to point out...look how spectacular my sis looks! She was due 2 days from when these were taken! Ah!

Utah- September 2010

Soooo...Lexie and I went to Utah again! We stayed 11 days and had so.much.fun! We went to see Kate's new baby and my sister, Ashley, before she left for Iraq.  Unfortunately, Ash couldn't make it because of some leave rules, and we missed her SO MUCH! It's just weird when we're all together but one.  I really hate that.  Anyway, I will do separate posts for our days in Utah- it makes it easier to explain all the pics that way.  Just to get started...here are a few from our plane adventures....there were like 30 people on our flight, so we got A LOT of extra room, and plus I was on Delta, so it was a straight through flight! Gotta love that!

18 months?

Ok, so more like 19 months now, because I'm so late in posting this.  This is what my little Lexie girl is up to now....

She copies~ EVERYTHING~ words, actions, you name it, she does it.
She says a whole ton of words....mommy, bri bri, nee nee, daddy, DIET COKE....and so many more
She is constantly moving, and wreaks havoc wherever she goes...it's a good thing she's cute!
She loves ALL THINGS DORA...
She can count to 5 in english AND spanish (thanks Dora)
She knows all her body parts
She knows her colors
She has 3rd child syndrome...often gets overlooked, so she compensates by calling attention to herself
Loves pizza, mini lunchables, goldfish, cupcakes, any kind of fruit, green beans, corn...but hates meat
She is the craziest girl I know, and I love every bit of her, even if she drives me nuts sometimes!
